I used measurements taken from a variety of skis to define what space I had to work with.
A series of small-scale paper models helped prove out some of the surfacing challenges of an origami-type pattern.
Using measurements taken from my rough CAD model, I started patterning a full-scale paper model.
We were able to try a variety of adjustment and closure methods with quick mock-ups attached to the paper model.
The angular design allowed us to keep Kulkea's large "mammoth-mouth" zip opening.
The zipper structure also helps support the shape of the bag.
